Below is an image of me with the final chair!

When designing for the VorOrt, we were inspired by the artistic and rustic aesthetic of the space. We started by looking at changing the shape of the chair to add more visual interest to the space; eventually deciding on a hanging chair. We decided to add splatter paint to enhance the artistic look of the chair, while still showing off the wood. Since the wood used for the beams is a different type of wood from that of the chair - we painted the beams white to make a more cohesive look. SaTaLi has a focus on movement with the shape and function of the chair.

Below is the original chair that we were given. We could work with three wooden seats but decided to use one plywood seat for our design.

Below are all of the ideation sketches determining the style of the chair.

Some small-scale mockups to further explore shape.

The VorOrt exhibited the final chairs made by all of my peers.
